Despite the fact that
Rihanna doesn’t want anything to do with
Chris Brown right now, it didn’t stop him from reaching out to her on her birthday.
Rihanna celebrated her 21st birthday this past weekend, throwing a low-key party at a home in the Hollywood Hills. That’s pretty brave of her to do so soon after their incident! But good for her for trying to put it behind her and not letting it affect her big 21!
Chris is apparently trying to buy back her love. The
New York Daily News reports that he bought her an expensive diamond necklace and bracelet, along with an iPod Touch.
The tabloid also reports that he called to wish her a happy birthday as well. No word on whether she accepted the call or not, but we’re going to guess that the answer is no!
Even Chris Brown’s mother, who is his manager, sent over a bouquet of flowers to Rihanna for her birthday.
A source tells the publication, "Chris called Rihanna to wish her a happy birthday. He's absolutely trying to get back into her good graces. He knows he's very much in the doghouse right now, and is doing everything he can to show her how sorry he is."
The insider adds, "Rihanna so wanted Chris with her on her big day, but obviously realizes why they can't be together right now. But it's becoming more and more clear that she can't be without him."
While it’s a nice gesture, Chris is going to have to do a lot more than buy jewelry to get back in Rihanna’s graces. We wonder if she’ll ever take him back.
