Chevy Chase in 'Community' Feud with Creator Dan Harmon

Oh no. If Chevy Chase starts talking about his “goddesses” and the world’s “droopy eyed children,” I’m taking a nap for the next six weeks.

The world is waiting to see if NBC’s ‘Community’ will return for a fourth season. And now, after (allegedly) drunk Chevy Chase has started a feud with the show’s creator, Dan Harmon, we’ll be waiting to hear if Chevy will be on the show if it does return.

Chevy and Dan reportedly started fighting because Chase couldn’t belt out some lines Dan had written.

Dan appeared at “Harmontown” a monthly comedy event he hosts in L.A. He explained to the audience:

"I had written a very simple scene that Chevy couldn't possibly f-ck up."

But f-ck up he did, and because Dan refused to scrap the scene, Chevy stormed off set. He eventually sent Dan an apologetic text message, but Dan refused to accept the apology.

“I said f-ck you…you breached your contract. You’re an assh-le.”
Harmon continued: "And then what happened a day later? That night ... after what I'm guessing is two bottles of Busch Light? Ladies and gentleman ... Chevy Chase."

He then played a voicemail from Chevy to the crowd. Some of Chevy’s highlights included:

“If you were here now, I’d f-cking kick your teeth out.”

And also: “You’re not funny…you’re OK.”

This certainly isn’t Chevy’s first time being involved in a feud. During his Saturday Night Live days, Chevy was infamous for being a jerk. And when Bill Murray replaced him, the two had an ongoing feud that eventually culminated in a fistfight.

Murray explains: “I got into a fight with Chevy the night he came back to host. That was because I was the new guy, and it was sort of like it was my job to do that. It would have been too petty for someone else to do that. It' almost like I was goaded into that."

During the week of rehearsals, Murray reportedly started the fight by telling Chase nobody liked him. From there, Chase made fun of Murray’s acne. Cast member Laraine Newman says she doesn't remember who provoked it, "but it culminated with Billy saying to Chevy, 'Why don't you f-ck your wife once in a while? She needs it.' And I don't even remember who threw the first punch, Billy or Chevy. But it was ugly."
