Chelsea Handler has publically expressed her disdain for Dancing With the Stars, calling it a "ridiculous program". She really has no room to talk. Because I'm pretty sure they make captives in Guantanamo Bay watch episodes of Chelsea Lately to torture them.
On The Joy Behar Show, Handler says she has refused to be a part of the show because "she has a job."
Apparently exploiting midgets and using shock value coupled with a deadpan inflection to disguise herself as a comedian is more of "a job" than dancing on a celebrity talent show.
"I mean, obviously I had to watch when Kirstie Alley was on because I had to see what was going to happen to the floor, but ... I can't watch that show," Handler said.
If this was, say, the producers of Mad Men being this condescending toward the show, I wouldn't have a problem with it. But Dancing With The Stars is no less intriguing than watching Chelsea Handler's skits, which are basically just her pretending to be mean to people. And, I know, that's comedy gold. But when it's the same thing over and over, it loses its appeal.
Behar asked Handler about the rumors of her dating rapper 50 Cent. Handler replied, “I just fooled around a little bit. I was just landscaping the atmosphere – just trying to see what was out there … if I still liked chocolate.”
Chelsea Handler just reminds me of a soccer mom who has margaritas with her girlfriends and says unconventional things to make them giggle and say, "girl, you're so bad!"
Between this and George Lopez, I'm honestly starting to wonder if Kirstie Alley is paying these people to make terrible jokes to make herself look better.
