Charlize Theron Opens Up About Being Single For the First Time in 17 Years

Charlize Theron may have once been a supermodel but her acting chops proves that that means nothing anymore. Charlize is returning to starring roles again after a brief hiatus where we wondered 'what happened to Charlize Theron?'

She’s starring in the new Jason Reitman directed flick, “Young Adult” and in next years “Snow White and the Hunstman.”

Charlize got super candid in an interview with Vogue where she covers the December issue of the mag and opened up about being single for the first time in 10 years, wearing fake silicon boobs inserts when she was younger and what she really thinks about working with Kristen Stewart. Oh and Theron cusses like a sailor. Keep Reading.

On getting drunk and introducing herself to Jason Reitman at the Oscars:

“I did that horrible, embarrassing thing. I just really, really, really loved Up in the Air.”

On her breakout role on “Monster”:

“It was life-changing—it opened a lot of doors. But it made people have a lot of opinions about what should happen next. You realize quickly that you can never please everybody.”

On taking a break from acting to work on her relationship with Stuart Townsend:

“It was sinking, and I had to give it a fight. I really wanted to try and make it work. That was the priority. I wouldn’t do it any different way.”

On being single for the first time in 10 years:

“I’ve never been single. This is the first time in my life. From the time I was nineteen, I’ve been in relationships, literally gone from one to the other within a month.
It’s been good for me. I’m a creature who’s really found her comfort zone in relationships.”

On having 8 dogs:

“After three, it doesn’t matter anymore.”

On returning to acting on the set of “Young Adult”:

“I realized how much I love what I do. I really, really missed it. Like around week three, I had this horrible, sappy moment where I got a little overwhelmed. It was just a really great f-cking experience. I’d gotten out of a relationship, and I was in this really floaty place. My feet weren’t touching the ground. I just kind of turned to [Reitman] and was like, ‘I feel like me again.’ ”

On wearing fake breast “cutlets” to improve her bustline:

“I was on this date and started making out, and it was moving a little further, so I realized I had to get the cutlets out,” Theron recalls. “But my bag was small, and I couldn’t fit them in the thing. I may have hid them in his trash with lots of toilet paper.”

On wanting to have kids:

“I do want to have kids, yeah. I always have. I’ve never had a rush for it, a moment where I really wanted to do it. I don’t have a panic about it.”

On why her “Snow White” co-star Kristen Stewart is cool:

“Kristen is just living this to the max and still has a sense of humor about it. There’s this really lovely quality about her that just doesn’t give a f-ck. A lot of people say they don’t, but then they go home and cry and pop a Xanax. Kristen actually doesn’t give a f-ck. That’s what’s so refreshing about her.”

On what she sees in her future:

“I’m going to really go big in my 40s and make my own reality show. It could totally happen!”
