Actress Charlize Theron was born on August 7, 1975 in Benoni, South Africa. Her career began as a model and aspiring ballet dancer. After suffering a knee injury, Charlize moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting. She landed a significant part in Two Days in the Valley. In 1997, she starred with Keanu Reeves and Al Pacino in The Devil's Advocate.
Her finest moment came in 2003 when she was named Best Actress for her portrayal of serial killer Aileen Wuornos in the film Monster. She was nominated for her role in North Country as well.
Charlize is in a committed relationship with Stuart Townsend. The two have been together since 2001. Charlize refuses to get married until same-sex couples are afforded the opportunity to marry.
