Two and a Half Men creator Chuck Lorre had this so-called brilliant idea to get Kathy Bates to play the ghost of Charlie Sheen’s character on Two and a Half Men. This was supposed to be both a) funny and b) an insult to Charlie Sheen.
I don’t know why that was an insult. What’s so bad about hiring a really talented well-respected actress to replace your fallen former star? What’s the joke, “hahah, we replaced you with a woman?” C’mon this ain’t the olden days!
Well, anyways, the plan did backfire because once Charlie Sheen heard what they were doing he told friends that he thought Kathy Bates was an “incredibly funny, talented actress and that he can’t wait to tune in to watch the episode.”
Charlie is telling people that he’s “honored” that he and Kathy share a connection – both playing the classic role of “Charlie Harper” on the TAHM.
The episode will air on April 30th, and marks the first time that the “ghost of Charlie Harper” will make a cameo on the show.
