Martin Sheen is speaking up about his son Charlie's past drug use. Martin says he turned into a fanatic during those times.
He says, "When a life is at stake and it's your child, you become fearless in a lot of ways. I mean, you just become fanatic. Nothing ever gets done unless it's done by a fanatic."
He says he used his own experiences with alcoholism to help Charlie through his tough time while he was in the hospital. Martin ended up having to pay his hospital bill because he had skipped out on it.
He then took the evidence he had on Charlie to the court, and that's what ended up saving him in the end. But it didn't keep Charlie away from the hookers!
