Operation Get-Your-Act-Together-Charlie-Sheen continues as he personally offers to donate one million dollars to the USO to benefit seriously wounded military troops in Bethesda, MD.
According to their release, “The USO is a private, nonprofit, non-partisan organization whose mission is to support the troops by providing morale, welfare and recreation-type services at hundreds of locations around the world.”
They rely solely on charitable donations to continue to help, “troops serving in combat, their families, our wounded warriors and their families, and families of the fallen.”
Sheen’s contribution marks the highest single donation ever made from an individual to the organization.
In a do-good promotion that gives equal time to Charlie and his new show, Sheen has vowed to donate 1% of the profits he makes on "Anger Management," with a minimum guarantee of one million dollars but with an unlimited cap.
Translation, he’s going to give them at least $1 million no matter what, but if he makes over... what, like $100 million dollars in profits for the show, he will continue to hand that over, indefinitely?
Uhm, hey, anyone who’s watched the show, is it $100 million dollars funny?
Well, for the sake of the troops, let’s hope it’s that good. Sheen’s money is set to provide an entertainment facility for the seriously injured vets in Bethesda.
Isn't it nice to see this totally new kind of headline for the notorious party dog? Obviously his time in Platoon affected him in ways we never took the time to consider…
Good for you Charlie, thanks for pulling it together, and giving back to the troops.
But don’t expect him to Tweet about it, he’s officially quit social media. For real.
"Anger Management" can be seen on FX Thursday nights at 9:30 PM ET/PT.
