Well, looks like the joke's on us. In an interview with Australian radio station, Charlie Sheen claims what he's been doing is "performance art."
"It wasn't like I was really believing that if you, it’s a drug called Charlie Sheen, if you take it your face will melt off and you'll weep over your exploded body!”
Now he's pulling a Joaquin Phoenix? I'm sick of celebrities going crazy, failing, and then trying to say, "I'm an actor, I was acting."
Celebrities think they can get away with everything with this. Lindsay might as well say she was "acting" like she stole that necklace. Jessica Alba should say she's been "acting" like she's a bad actress. We're not buying it.
Sheen says he's just been putting together ridiculous words and phrases to get media attention.
"You just prepare for it because you know it's coming because they're [media] transparent and predictable. It’s a skill set you don't worry about encountering. You can dismiss it with the illusion that there's some measure of compassion behind the answer,” Sheen said in the video obtained by Radaronline.
No matter how hard he tries, there's no coming back from this. At this point, all he can do is embrace the meltdown and hope for a reality show on E! or a crappy ABC dramedy a la Men in Trees. And he's already produced Sheen's Korner, so dramedy it is.
