The forecast for the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey is looking especially gloomy these days...
After news broke this week that Charlie Hunnam is throwing in the towel on portraying Christian Grey—rumor has it he hated the script—his co-star Dakota Johnson could possibly follow suit.
According to E! News, a source revealed that Dakota is already caving under the pressure of her recent casting as the book’s female protagonist Anastasia Steele.
“Dakota is having a very hard time dealing with all the press,” said the source. “When she first got the role, it was way too much for her.”
“It’s been tough,” the source added, for Dakota to become an instant celebrity over night. Suddenly, she’s becomes someone “everyone wants a piece of,” a qualm she underestimated when agreeing to be a part of the most-watched pre-production film in Hollywood.
Losing Charlie has already proven to be a setback for the film as it scrambles to find a replacement before shooting starts next month. The movie is apparently still going to get made, but we’ll believe it when we see it…
Dakota’s rep has declined to address the reports.
