Channing Tatum is Hollywood’s latest ‘It’ boy, and he stars alongside Jonah Hill in the 21 Jump Street reboot.
Hollyscoop caught up with Channing at the premiere for 21 Jump Street, and he told us breaking into Hollywood is even harder than it seems.
“Every step is a slip,” Channing told Hollyscoop. “And you just hope you don’t land on your face.”
Channing's costar, Jonah Hill, agreed.
“It's hard to break in; it's hard to stay in,” Jonah told Hollyscoop. “It's hard to anything. It's an industry based around--you feel like you're climbing an iced wall. You feel like you're sliding.”
Channing says he hopes his new ‘It’ boy status will help him collaborate with people on his “list.”
“I got a list of people I’d love to work with,” Channing told Hollyscoop.
Channing is married to actress Jenna Dewan, and he told us that, despite the next step being to start a family, the two are focusing on their careers for now.
“We’re married, so I don’t think it gets any further than that—other than kids,” Channing told Hollyscoop.
“We don’t have any plans to have any kids just yet,” he said, adding that for now, they’re just “working away.”
Channing is also the executive producer behind 21 Jump Street. Jonah co-wrote the movie and also executive produced it. The film focuses on the story of two young-looking cops who are hired to pose as high school kids in order to obtain information on some local drug dealers. Unlike the original TV series, the reboot is a comedy.
Channing says he had trouble keeping up in a comedy after working in so many dramas.
