You know what’s awkward? Changing your name to something that nearly everyone unanimously agrees is stupid. You know what else is awkward? Having a reality show with your new wife on VH1 after you get arrested for allegedly smacking her around.
Thankfully the people at VH1 have exercised some good judgment and have pulled the already filmed Ev and Ocho and will not be airing it in the wake of Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson’s domestic violence related arrest.
According to Davie, Florida police captain Dale Engle, Chad was taken in to custody after allegedly head-butting his new wife, Evelyn Lozada. In addition to having his 11 episode reality show axed, which was supposed to premiere on September 3, Chad’s contract with the Miami Dolphins was also cancelled.
Evelyn Lozada was formerly a cast member on VH1's Basketball Wives, because of her ten year relationship with Antoine Walker (who did not head-butt her, for the record).
Lozada suffered a “pretty good-sized” laceration on her forehead from the headbutt, which allegedly happened during an argument with Chad. Chad tried to use the old “our heads just knocked together on accident!” thing, which begs the question of why he was so very up in his wife’s face to begin with during this argument.
The fight stemmed from a strange receipt for condoms that Evelyn found in their car, so the circumstantial evidence is pretty squarely against Chad here. It appears that when he can’t talk his way out of an altercation, he goes the football route and plows in to his opponent until they stop talking.
Another important question to ask (aside from why a man cannot explain a condom receipt in a way that does not involve alleged bodily injury to his wife, as he is not 7 years old), is who the hell headbutts someone?
