Steven Spielberg Donates Money To Gay Activists

September 23, 2008

Moviemaker Steven Spielberg is following in the footsteps of Brad Pitt by donating $100,000 to a campaign to keep gay marriage legal in California. How great is that?!

Spielberg and his wife Kate Capshaw donated the money to the anti-Proposition 8 campaign, which helps activists oppose a state vote to ban same-sex marriages.

The couple said in a statement, "By writing discrimination into our state constitution, Proposition 8 seeks to eliminate the right of each and every citizen in our state to marry regardless of sexual orientation. Such discrimination has NO place in California's constitution, or any other."

Voting for Prop 8 will take place this coming November, make sure your voice is heard--please vote!
