Grammy Award winner India.Arie has settled a lawsuit with her former manager, Hollyscoop has learned exclusively.
Noreen Nalli, owner of A&R Consultants, LLC, filed the lawsuit against the singer in Tennessee last year in an attempt to collect money owed to her claiming India fired her without notice.
In addition, Nalli - who managed the singer from 2005-2009 - claimed that India went so far as to sabotage her own career by canceling shows, rejecting offers to perform and going M.I.A. for weeks on end which cost both of them a lot of money.
In response to those claims, India filed a countersuit against Nalli claiming she had overpaid her.
On April 16, after almost one year of back-and-forth in court, the parties filed a joint motion to dismiss the action stating the dispute has been "compromised and settled."
The terms of the settlement are undisclosed at this time. India and Nalli have 30 days from the filing to rethink the settlement and change their minds but so far, things are looking good.
"The case has come to an amicable resolution, we're just finishing up the paperwork but I'm not at liberty to discuss the details," Nalli's attorney tells Hollyscoop.
If you're a fan of the singer, you can catch her performance Labor Day weekend at the Third Annual Curacao North Sea Jazz Festival August 31 - September 1, 2012.
