Coolio Charged with Felony Cocaine Possession and Battery

Coolio has officially been charged with felony drug possession stemming from Friday’s arrest at LAX in which authorities found a bag of crack cocaine on him that he was attempting to sneak through security.

Coolio, whose real name is Artis Leon Ivey, was also charged with battery stemming from his arrest, after grabbing a screener’s arm to prevent a luggage search.

He’s officially been charged with one felony count of possession, one misdemeanor count of battery, and one misdemeanor count of possession of paraphernalia.

He was released on $10,000 bail and is scheduled for an arraignment on April 3rd. His manager has yet to comment on the situation, but Coolio faces up to three years in prison if convicted.

"The thing that baffles me most is the fact that you can't even smoke on planes anyway... if you're gonna be an idiot and do drugs - I guess I should just stop there - if you're dumb enough to do drugs then you're probably not thinking about much else..."
