Catherine Zeta Jones Discusses Her Battle With Bipolar Disease

Catherine Zeta Jones has always been notoriously private about her private life--until now.

When she found out she was diagnosed with bipolar II disorder, she didn't hesitate for a minute to step forward with the news. It's almost as if reporters were on her list of speed dials after she left the doctors office. Very strange.

And after seeking treatment for five days, she's on the cover of People magazine giving them an exclusive interview about her ordeal.

"This is a disorder that affects millions of people and I am one of them," she told People in an exclusive statement in this week's cover story.

"If my revelation of having bipolar II has encouraged one person to seek help, then it is worth it. There is no need to suffer silently and there is no shame in seeking help."

I commend her for sharing her story, I really do, but there's something strange about someone who is soooo private all of a sudden being so public.

But like she said, if she can help just one person seek help, then it's worth it.
