The Susan Boyle obsession continues! The latest is that Catherine Zeta-Jones wants to play her in a movie. According to the Daily Mail, Catherine has been inquiring about purchasing the rights to Boyle’s life.

A source says, “This is one of many requests we have had to play her for movie deals and for stories of her life.”

Catherine Zeta-Jones has a sexy new role to add to her resume. She’s slated to play Cleopatra in Steven Soderbergh's 3-D live-action, rock-musical extravaganza about the legendary Egyptian queen and her ill-fated love affair with Roman politician Marc Antony.

The Hollywood Reporter says Soderbergh wants Hugh Jackman in the role of Antony. And Hugh’s no stranger to musicals….he even won a Tony back in 2004. Cleopatra will feature original music by indie rockers Guided by Voices, whose former bassist, James Greer, is an author and wrote the screenplay.

The $30 million film is the story of the Egyptian ruler as she hooks up with the Roman general and eventually commits suicide after she and Antony are defeated by Julius Caesar at the battle of Actium.

Catherine Zeta-Jones Wants To Do Nude Scenes

Catherine Zeta-Jones is in Sydney right now promoting her new movie, Death Defying Acts, and she took a little time to talk to the New Zealand Herald about what to expect in her upcoming movies.

 "Obviously, my career is expanding and I am a mother and so I'm not going to be rip-roaring in corsets playing a 19-year-old because I'm not, I'm 38 years old," she told reporters.

 "I'm actually really lucky and glad these other roles have come along and I can play a mother."

 But she said she wasn't about to abandon sexy roles altogether.

 "In my next movie, which is an untitled movie at the moment, you'll be seeing a lot more of me, put it that way," she said.

 "I'm not going to be playing old grannies anytime soon.

 "You see, I haven't actually reached my sexiest point yet."

If we could all age as gracefully as Catherine, medicine cabinets wouldn't be stocked with eye creams and cellulite erasers.  According to imdb, Catherine has three movies in the works for 2008. We'll have to wait and see what sexy roles she has in store for us. 
Catherine Zeta Jones In 'Death Defying Acts'

The flawless Catherine Zeta-Jones is in Sydney, Australia to promote her latest flick, ‘Death Defying Acts.’ Catherine and her co-star Guy Pearce took pictures in front of the Sydney Opera house before the press conference for the film.

“Death Defying Acts” is about Harry Houdini entering into a passionate affair with a psychic who’s out to con the famous magician. The story takes place in London in 1926.

The movie opens in theatres on March 13, 2008 but you can watch the trailer below.
