Carrie Underwood is just your average, five dollar foot-long lovin’ girl.
In a new interview, the country music stunner speaks up about keeping it hot in her very committed relationship with her NHL husband, Mike Fisher. Apparently one of the things on the couple’s steamy checklist is spending quality time at the affordable sandwich shop, Subway.
The singer spills the beans about her hunger-crunching secret to a happy marriage in the newest issue of People magazine. Along with typical married people things like hosting dinner nights at their house with friends and sending texts back-and-forth when their schedules pull them apart, the couple keeps it interesting by spending casual dates at the restaurant chain.
As bizarre as that sounds for someone who is valued somewhere around $45 million, the story actually is kind of romantic.
“We called it 'our place' when we were first dating!” she says of the eatery.
Perhaps it’s Subway’s make-it-your-way menu and combo options that remind them of their deep affection and obligation to one another...
She adds: “When you make that promise to somebody, and you stand before God and your family and friends, you've got to do everything that you possibly can to make that work.”
And, when they’re not wolfing down Italian BMTs or Ham and Cheeses, they’re keeping things hot and toasty in other ways.
“Even when he's like, 'I'm so out of shape,' he still has a six-pack,” she says. “Having Mike there – I want to be a hot wife!”
Carrie’s People mag feature arrives on newsstands everywhere this Friday.
