Miss California to Launch Anti-Gay Marriage Campaign

If you thought you had heard the last of Miss California, think again! Carrie Prejean announced on the Today Show on Thursday that she will be working with the National Organization for Marriage on a campaign opposing gay marriage.

"I am just here to protect marriage," said Prejean. "The National Organization for Marriage basically just respects marriages and people who support it. I am here to protect traditional marriage."

If you guys recall, Prejean made headlines for the anti-gay marriage answer she gave during the Miss America pageant.

Speaking about the pageant she said, "I never thought in a million years that this would be happening right now. I was attacked for giving my own opinion on stage. I am going to do whatever it takes to protect marriage."

Miss California is just trying to milk the rest of her 15-minutes. She definitely got the most press out of the entire Miss America pageant. She took the spotlight away from the actual winner, Miss North Carolina. What are your thoughts on the entire situation?

You know living as a gay male, i would have to say that this blond wanna be wants to make sure that even though she didn't win Miss America she has enough money to live since probably nobody will hire the dumb a$$. I mean how wrong can it be for two fags or two dikes to marry. Are the hetro's that jealous to see that us gay folk can actually have the traditional American family. To know that the gay's are much happier and when they choose their partner its meant for life. We are like penguins. When we meet the perfect match we stay with them till death do us part.

Ok, so it's ok to have pro-gay marriage rallys, pro-gay lobbyists. But it is not ok to be pro-hetero? You folks need to reaffirm why you are in this. Ask a question and do not like the answer: was the question wrong or the answer wrong or was it wrong to ask a question to which you did not feel the person should have answered freely? At least she is being true to what she believes and if someone did not want her to express how she really felt about it then perhaps they should have not asked.

Although I support gay marriage I think its great she is able to speak for what she believes in. People just need to leave her alone and quit bashing her, she is not the only person who opposes gay marriage and they all have their reasons not to. Everyone is entitled to speak their mind.

Dear tomtom, Gays already have all the rights of married couples with respect to insurance, tax breaks, etc., if they bother form a civil union. The pro gay-marriage people are not seeking rights -- they already have those. They are seeking to shove their lifestyle choice down our throats.

The homosexual fanatics started this fight! No one was talking about gay rights. The gathering in this auditorium was not for the issue of gay rights. The subject of the program had nothing to do with gay rights. This was a beauty pageant! It was a pageant of wonderful young women who represented the states and capitol city of our country. In the contests of the pageant, it was determined that the representative of California, Miss Carrie Prejean, was the best one. But then, this wicked fag, Mr. Perez Hilton, has to bring up not just gay rights, but the most extreme gay rights issue, and ask Carrie what does she think about two queers "marrying" each other! So Miss Prejean answers -- what would be the answer of many hundreds of millions of people throughout the world (me included) -- that it is wrong! So for this "crime" that she dared to do the "forbidden deed" of being loyal to what her parents and her religious instructors taught her, she was rejected from the Miss USA title and subjected to the most demeaning insults! So it is totally understandable and, yes, commendable, that Miss Carrie Prejean, seeing how she herself was just caught in the line of fire of this fanatic obsession to wreak marriage, undertakes upon herself to assist in the efforts to strengthen true marriage.

She is an idiot!! It is that simple. Gay marriage has nothing to do with marriage between a man and a woman. The traditional marriage has been in trouble on it's own for years. Gays deserve to be able to marry, raise kids, get tax breaks like everyone else in this country. Gay pay their taxes just like everyone else does. Miss CA, you really need to find something positive to speak on...especially during the troubled times at present and seemingly ahead! The bottom line is that you lost the pageant, Miss North Carolina won...case over! You appear sad and desperate at this point, as I have never heard of a contestant trying to bully their way into the spotlight, in such an inappropriate manner. How dare you insult Miss Carolina...throughout all of your little tantrums, you have disrespected the very pageant that you wanted to represent and that is why you are not Miss USA, you have proven your true desires and compromised etiquette! So for the record...from someone who is impartial...in my opinion, you missed the mark when answering the question, not because of your stance, but because you appeared more like a babbling fool, than an educated woman...Miss CA, listen to your answer again, you contradict yourself and your statement was filled with "Fluff!"
