Carly Rae Jepsen. biography
Carly Rae Jepsen was born on November 21, 1985, in Mission, British Columbia and first developed her love for music in result of her dad singing her to sleep as a child.
After competing on the reality show Canadian Idol in 2007, Carly made her debut as a professional singer with the release of her first studio album Tug of War (2008), which spawned the hit singles "Tug of War" and "Bucket."
After touring across Canada alongside well-known artists such as Shiloh, Carly stormed the music scene with her EP Curiosity in February 2012. The album was a commercial success with its lead single "Call Me Maybe" becoming a YouTube sensation and ordaining Carly as a rising pop star.
Later that year, Carly signed a record deal with Scooter Braun's label School Boy Records, which is currently under the control of Justin Bieber. She went on to release her second studio album Kiss in September of that year to positive reviews. Featuring guest appearances by Bieber among others, the album debuted at number six on the Billboard 200 chart with first-week sales of 46,000 copies and featured the top-ten charted single "Good Time."
Carly's other entertainment ventures include, a guest appearance on the TV series 90210 (2012) and becoming the spokesperson for the clothing brand Candie in 2013.
