French First Lady and the President of France have just given birth to a baby girl. French President Bruno Sarkozy and first Lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy had their first child together today at the Clinque de la Muette.

We do not know the name of the baby but this is pretty monumental news for France as this baby girl is the first child born to a ruling French leader since Napoleon. However, Carla said she wouldn't release photos of the baby to press or media outlets because she thinks the French people wouldn't care for them anyways. She's probably right.

She previously told BBC last month, "There isn't much to say. So many women are expecting children and giving birth and it's so uninteresting for French people," syas Bruni-Sarkozy.

From French First Lady to big screen leading lady. Woody Allen has given Carla Bruni a starring role in his next film.

Carla, who married Nicolas Sarkozy shortly after he became French President in 2007, had become Woody's latest muse and she's reportedly accepted a role in one of his upcoming movies.

“I would like to work with Carla Bruni,” Woody said last year. “I’m sure she would be wonderful. She has charisma and she performs, so she’s not unknown to an audience, and I would cast her in many different ways.

“She is an accomplished artist, she is very beautiful and I am sure she would have a gift for comedy. I can assure people it would cause no problems with President Sarkozy, or with the image of France.”

Woody is staying mum on details surrounding the possible movie role, but we'll keep you guys updated on more info soon! Would you want to see the First Lady of France as an actress?

Move over Scarlett Johansson! Woody Allen has his sights set on his next muse.

Her name is Carla Bruni, a model and singer, who also happens to be France’s first lady, the wife of President Nicholas Sarkozy.

Allen is currently in Paris promoting his new film Whatever Works, and spoke with reporters about who he had his eye on for a leading lady role.

Woody is apparently desperate to direct Carla Bruni. He told reporters, "Without question, Carla Bruni! I'm sure she would be wonderful. She has charisma, and she performs, so she's not a stranger to an audience, and I would cast her in many different ways.”

Unfortunately Woody doesn’t have any current projects to cast Carla in, but he not letting it deter him. He said, "I don't have a story at the moment, but you know, maybe even I'll ask her, if she's interested."

Do you think Carla Bruni would do a Woody Allen film? It definitely takes a certain type of actor to work with him!
