Canterbury's Law
April 18, 2008

It's the big finish of the family fancy-footwork competition, and that is good news for Jesse and Rebecca: It means they won't be up for elimination any more. The couple spent half the show at the bottom of the pack but managed to come back each time, thanks to viewer votes. Tonight they find out if they survived their fourth trip to the chopping block so they can be one of the final three who get to strut their stuff for a chance at $100,000.
Ghost Whisperer @ 8pm
High school is tough enough with all the hormones and growth spurts (wow, did Ned ever grow up fast!), but mix in some supernatural stunts and the angst meter hits critical. In this repeat from January, Ned (newcomer Christoph Sanders) asks Melinda to investigate the hauntings plaguing his new friend. But in order to get to the bottom of the ghostly grumblings, she first needs to navigate the rocky waters of gossipy "slam sites" where students anonymously insult each other. Meanwhile, Melinda's own anonymity may be at stake when that pesky blogger comes back to haunt her.
Canterbury's Law @ 9pm
Elizabeth's tactics suggest she'll do just about anything (legal or otherwise) to win a case, but in tonight's season finale, we learn there are lines even she will not cross. Of course, there are loopholes in her scruples when she defends an admitted rapist — something she said she'd never do — namely that the confessor is a former client who has turned his life around in the years since the crime was committed. And it looks like Elizabeth's principles will come out unscathed, until an inflammatory talk-radio host starts whispering in the ear of the victim.
Rob & Big @ 5:30pm
Big announces he's expecting a baby in the series finale....what?! Did anyone know that Mr. Big even had a girlfriend much less a relationship that ended with a baby?? It would have been nice to have seen her on the show...or any girlfriend for that matter. So now that Big is growing up--what will Rob do? Do you think this will inspire Rob to find his forever "good" girl.....so many questions so little time! Update: Rob may have screen sirens in his future, catch his small role along side heavy hitters Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro in 88 minutes.
Duel @ 9:00pm:
t's the third week of this adrenaline-pumping, high-stakes competition game show. Competitors find themselves in intense head-to-head matches, reacting quickly under pressure and forced to use both brains (does he know the right answer?) and nerves (can she put her money where her mouth is?) to outsmart their opponents.

If we can assume that the maverick Elizabeth has been marching to the beat of her own drummer for a long time now, she's no doubt encountered (and navigated) any number of professional pitfalls. But should this latest obstacle — serious accusations of jury tampering in the Ethan Foster case — prove insurmountable, she faces possible disbarment, and might even go to jail. Better drink that vodka while you can, counselor.
Numbers @ 10pm
Don's former flame, ADA Robin Brooks (Michelle Nolden), returns, and he's assigned to protect her when three witnesses involved in a case she is prosecuting are murdered. Worse for Don is the belief that Robin may be leaking information to aid her case. Also, an imprisoned gang leader is suspected of passing secret instructions to a teen chess prodigy about which gang members should be killed, and Charlie undergoes FBI training to learn how to better protect himself.
Miss USA @ 9pm
Donny and Marie Osmond take the helm of this year's parade of perfection, which has a spiced-up new location at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. A performance by rock band Finger Eleven also adds an unlikely twist to the proceedings. And finally, the slew of celebrity judges includes Joey Fatone, Heather Mills and Project Runway's Christian Siriano. Fabulous!
Ghost Whisperer @ 8pm
The show is back with six new episodes! Last week, she was lured to a haunted underground city by the spirit of her presumed dead dad (Martin Donovan), Melinda narrowly escaped a cave-in, and hubby Jim became very protective. Tonight, a series of break-ins leads Melinda to the town blogger, who knows her secret and intends to tell.
Duel @ 9pm
Contestants of varying backgrounds answer trivia and strategize to outsmart their opponents in head-to-head matchups.

Julianna Margulies left *ER* in 2000, but now she's back in a regular TV role in R.I., as in Providence. Margulies plays attorney Elizabeth Canterbury, who, as the show's title suggests, has her own approach to justice, and frequently crosses all sorts of boundaries in her dogged pursuit of it. Her penchant for doing her own thing puts her at odds with just about everyone, including her husband (Aidan Quinn), with whom she bears the burden of the unsolved disappearance of a son. To compensate, Elizabeth throws herself into her work, and in tonight's premiere, that involves defending a seemingly indefensible child-murder suspect.
*The Bachelor* returns next week for another go-round (its 12th) with a new wrinkle: a British bachelor. But, accent aside, how different will 27-year-old financier Matt Grant is from the 11 other handsome, articulate and dashing guys who have picked out "soul mates" (if not brides and if not forever) since the franchise began in 2002? Tonight's retrospective will give you a chance to make comparisons. It'll also catch up with some of the more notable contestants, and it'll promote the upcoming edition of *The Bachelorette*, in which last season's spurned contestant DeAnna Pappas gets to do the spurning.
While most people relive their high school experiences (baffling hairstyles included) by flipping through a yearbook, 12 girls from a school in suburban Kansas have had their journeys documented by first-time filmmaker Sharon Liese. Following the girls from their freshman through senior years, Liese captures the angst, challenges and more than a few startling transformations. The first installment of this eight-episode series features a popular girl who seems to have it all, and another girl who is much more hesitant about entering high school.
Now that he's found the long-lost and presumed-dead Sarah (Ally Sheedy), Jessi's "mother," maybe Kyle will finally have the ally he needs to save Jessi from Taylor's nefarious plans. Unfortunately, there are still two obstacles to overcome, namely Jessi's mile-wide stubborn streak and the fact that Sarah demands that her identity remain a secret.
