Anne Hathaway looks like she’s a shoe-in for Oscar contention after today’s news. Her latest film Rachel Getting Married is already get a lot of attention after leading the upcoming Spirit Awards with six nominations, including one for best picture.

And today Anne has officially been named Best Actress by the National Board of Review for her role in the film. For those of you unfamiliar, the National Board of Review is is comprised of film historians, film pros and others, and is best known for presenting the first nationally recognized awards of Oscar season.

Here’s the full list of today’s winners from the NBR. Look out Keira Knightley and Kate WInslet, our own girl next door may be some tough competition in this year’s Oscar race.

Eagle Eye rocked the box office this past weekend bringing in $29.2 million dollars opening weekend! The romantic date movie Nights In Rodanthe came in at second with $13.5 million, while Lakeview Terrace rounded out the top three with $7 million. Here is the top ten movies for Sep 26-28 weekend:

It's time to stop obsessing over how good The Dark Knight was, and focus your attention on a new flick that's out next month.

From the Cohen Brothers come Burn After Reading, a dark spy-comedy starring George Clooney, Frances McDormand, John Malkovich, and Tilda Swinton.

A disk containing the memoirs of CIA agent Osbourne Cox (Malvovich) ends up in the hands of two lowlife gym employees who then decide to try and cash in on the deal and attempt to sell it.

Whenever you put Clooney and Pitt in a movie together, we're immediately sold! Burn After Reading is in theaters September 12th.

The 65th annual Venice Film Festival kicks off on August 27 and George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Anne Hathaway and Charlize Theron are among the celebrities expected on the red carpet.

This will be the first public appearance Brad will make after the birth of the twins.

Pitt and Clooney co-starred in Ethan Coen's Burn After Reading, which is being featured at the festival.

The movie won't be released until September 12, 2008 here in the states, but promos for the movie are already in full swing.
