The country’s Cultural Ministry branded the film “immoral,” calling its language and sexual nature “obscene and improper.” Just a side note to Ukrainians everywhere: Isn’t that the point of a Sacha Baron Cohen movie??!
But Ukraine is serious about what films can be shown on the big screen. They appointed a 14-person commission to make the decision, which ultimately was that the movie would “cause damage to public morals.”
The commission said Brüno "artistically unjustified exhibition of sexual organs and sexual relations, homosexual acts in a blatantly graphic form, obscene language, sadism, and antisocial behavior which could damage the moral upbringing of our citizens."
Meanwhile, the Brits have re-edited the film to make it more teen-friendly. That version will come out July 24th, and will allow viewers 15 and under into the theater.
The full version seems to be doing quite well however, even though it’s probably about to get trampled by Harry Potter!

Bruno kept the jokes rolling, calling his Velcro incident at the Prada fashion show “Worse than Darfur. It was Dar-five.” He also went on to say he wanted to become an “internationally respected figure, like Heidi Montag from The Hills.”
We have to give it to Matt Lauer for keeping the interview going smoothly, and not losing it, especially after Bruno referred to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger as a gay Austrian.
The funniest part has to be when Bruno asks Matt to comfort him after telling him the news that the Austrian minister to Great Britain is calling for a boycott of the film.
But we have no doubt that this movie is going to do pretty well in the theaters! Go see Bruno tonight at midnight! And check out the hilarious interview below.

Universal Studios decided to cut a scene that pokes fun of Latoya Jackson in the film, out of respect for the Jackson family.
In the scene, Bruno attempts to find Michael Jackson’s phone number in Latoya’s BlackBerry.
Bruno reads the number aloud when he finds it, and an angry Latoya ends the interview and storms off the set.
The scene was deleted for last night’s Los Angeles premiere at Grauman’s Chinese Theater. And according to reports, the scene will not be restored for its official release on July 10th.
In related news, fans showed up to pay their respects to Michael after hearing of his death by showing up to his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The star happens to be situated right at Grauman’s Chinese Theater where the premiere was taking place. And although the star was blocked off due to the premiere, it didn’t stop hundreds of fans showing up to show their condolences. The star is available for fans to visit today.
