Robert De Niro, Bruce Springsteen and Mel Brooks have been given lifetime achievement awards. And this isn't just any old award--the President of the United States honored them!

The legendary entertainers were praised by Barack Obama on Sunday at the Kennedy Center Honors. They were presented with their accolades at a black-tie event for transforming the arts in America.

Obama told guests they were being honored because they were simply "the best."

He said: “These performers are indeed the best. They are also living reminders of a single truth — and I’m going to steal a line from my wife Michelle here — the arts are not somehow apart from our national life, the arts are the heart of our national life.”

Also in attendance were Jack Black, Ben Stiller, Edward Norton, Matthew Broderick and Philip Seymour Hoffman, among 300 other celebrity guests. Talk about a star studded affair!

Actress Meryl Streep was one of many stars to praise the award-winners. Speaking about Robert, she said: "Bob has earned the respect he enjoys around the world in the thousands of little bitty details.”

Bruce Springsteen was forced to cancel his concert in Kansas City last night after learning his cousin was found dead in a hotel room.

Lenny Sullivan, 36, was also Bruce’s assistant road manager for the E Street Band for the last ten years.

A statement on Bruce’s website reads: "A warm and sensitive person, he was beloved by Bruce, the Band, the crew, and the entire Thrill Hill family."

Police in Kansas City are investigating the death, but as of now there is no foul play.

The sudden news caused the cancellation of the show that night, with all tickets refunded and promises to return to the area "at the earliest opportunity."

The woman whose husband accused her of having an affair with Bruce Springsteen has spoken up about the scandal. She’s denying the claim, just like The Boss is.

Ann Kelly’s attorney Noel Tonneman released a statement to People magazine today saying, "My client absolutely denies having an affair with Bruce Springsteen. These are baseless allegations of a jealous man. And that's all there is to it."

Ann’s husband Arthur seemed pretty adamant about the fact that his wife was cheating with Bruce, even claiming that it had happened more than once and in “places too numerous to mention.”

So how would he know all of that unless he was following his wife, or hired a private investigator to follow them?

But Ann’s lawyer maintains that her client and Springsteen merely belong to the same gym. And things have spiraled out of control for Ann since news broke of the affair.

She says she "cannot return to her home because of the news media," adding, "she hopes the media frenzy will end for the sake of her children."

So scandalous! We’re sure this isn’t the end of what we’re going to hear about this. We hope Bruce and Ann Kelly are telling the truth, for each of their families’ sake.

Bruce Springsteen wants his fans to know that he’s a dedicated husband, and hasn’t been cheating on his wife Patti with another woman.

He responded today to allegations brought on by New Jersey man Arthur Kelly, who claimed his wife was having an affair with The Boss.

Today Bruce’s rep said in a statement that his client stands by the original statement he posted in August 2006 on brucespringsteen.net, which was when he was first accused of being in another affair.

At that time, Bruce wrote:

"I hesitate to use this website for anything personal believing it should remain a place where fans of my music can come free of the distractions that occasionally arise with the rest of my job.

"However, due to the unfounded and ugly rumors that have appeared in the papers over the last few days, I felt they shouldn't pass without comment. Patti and I have been together for 18 years -- the best 18 years of my life. We have built a beautiful family we love and want to protect and our commitment to one another remains as strong as the day we were married."

We’re not sure why Bruce is referring to that statement, since that alleged affair was with a completely different woman! This is a completely separate issue!

In the divorce papers, Arthur Kelly alleged that his estranged wife "has committed adultery with one Bruce Springsteen, who resides in Rumson, N.J., and Colts Neck, N.J., at various times and places too numerous to mention."

We wonder how this guy knows about all the alleged times his wife has been with Bruce. Did he hire a private investigator? This is one sticky situation!

The Boss may have just landed himself in some legal trouble! He’s allegedly been having an extra-marital affair with one of his friends, who happens to be married.

According to court papers obtained by Star magazine and filed in Monmouth County NJ, Arthur Kelly claims that his wife of 17 years Ann has committed adultery with Bruce Springsteen.

Ironically enough, Bruce has been married to his wife Patti Scialfa for 17 years as well.

A source tells Star, “Ann says she and Bruce are just friends, but there have been rumors going around the area for more than a year that they had gotten way too close after meeting at a local gym.”

This isn’t the first time Bruce has been accused of cheating. In fact, that’s supposedly how he got together with his wife Patti! She was his backup singer when he was married to his former wife Julianne Phillips, and the two were allegedly having an affair behind her back.

He never admitted to it, but then in 2006, Bruce denied a report that he’d had an affair with a 9/11 widow from New Jersey whom he’d met in 2001.

Sounds like there’s trouble in Jersey! We highly doubt Bruce would admit to such a thing, but this isn’t the first we’ve heard of him cheating, or having marital problems for that matter!
