Most of us have full time jobs; Brooke Mueller has full time rehab.
While it was originally reported that Brooke Mueller wanted to participate in outpatient rehab, aka Druggie Day Care, it’s now confirmed that the troubled ex of Charlie Sheen has checked herself into a full-time rehab center.
Steve Honig, Mueller’s rep, told TMZ: "After further reflection and consideration, Brooke has decided to remove herself from the media spotlight and has entered a long-term in-patient treatment center where she can focus on her recovery without distraction."
Mueller has custody of her two sons with Charlie Sheen, Bob and Max, and apparently, she was considering outpatient so she could spend time with the kids. But I guess she figured it was the best decision to not have any pit stops on her road to sobriety.
"She has already arrived at the facility and, out of respect for her privacy, no further information will be released about her treatment. Brooke’s goal is to maintain her sobriety and she believes this is the best option to reach that goal."
Honig adds that even though she’s going to be in rehab, Brooke will still have custody of the kids. Which sounds like a bad idea, until you realize the alternative is Charlie Sheen.
“Brooke will retain custody of the children, who will remain in their home and familiar surroundings and be under the care of their longtime nanny. Charlie and Brooke’s parents fully support her decision and everyone recognizes the importance of maintaining the children’s normal routine.”
Steve says that Brooke “has requested to be tested on a daily basis for cocaine and other illegal substances so there is no doubt as to her commitment.”
Well, at least she knows she has a problem and is willing to do whatever it takes. It could be worse. She could be one of those people on Intervention who thinks they’re having a family reunion and then realizes it’s about their drug problem and then runs away screaming.
Mueller was found with four grams of cocaine in Aspen last weekend. She was arrested at an Aspen bar called Belly Up when a woman claimed Mueller had assaulted her. She was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.
Sheen says the distribution charge was ridiculous: “The child support I pay her? Is she gonna deal drugs? Never gonna happen.”
So she wasn’t going to deal coke, she was just planning to do such a large amount of it that cops thought she was Tony Montana. Got it.
