Brittany Murphy's husband Simon Monjack has been spending his time this week protecting his deceased wife's name.
A large number of prescription pill bottles were found in Murphy's room at the time of her death. There were painkillers, anti-anxiety meds, along with meds to treat bi-polar disorder, but her husband
insists that she did not take anything dangerous enough to kill her the day of her death.
"My wife did not take anything on the morning of her death that would have caused her to be sick or ill, let alone die," Monjack tells the New York Daily News. "It's beyond even the sickest speculation."
Monjack also denied rumors that Murphy had a drug problem.
"There's no question that's rubbish," Monjack said. "I'm confident it wasn't an overdose...She was not a drug addict."
There have also been rumors that Murphy suffered from an eating disorder which Monjack calls "heartless."
"The attacks on me, the attacks on my wife and suggestions that she was anorexic and drug addicted, it's like, look at the photographs," Monjack said.
"Look at that smile," he continued. "That's not the smile of an anorexic or drug addict or someone in a bad marriage. That's someone who was content with her life."
People should just let the family mourn in peace!
