Despite new toxicology reports, the cause of Brittany Murphy’s 2009 death will not be reexamined.

Brittany’s father, not satisfied with the investigation of his late daughter’s passing, commissioned an independent lab study that suggested she could’ve been poisoned, while also alluding to possible foul play.

Brittany’s husband, Simon Monjack, died unexpectedly of similar causes just five months later.

New information considered, this hasn’t swayed the Los Angeles County coroner who won’t be reopening her file any time soon.

“The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner has no plans to reopen our inquiry into the deaths,” Craig Harvey, Chief Coroner Investigator and Chief of Operations, told The Huffington Post in a statement. “We stand by our original reports.”

This is largely because Brittany’s father hasn’t adequately proven that the hair, blood, and tissue samples he sourced for his independent lab results are his daughter’s, according to the Chief Coroner.

It hasn’t stopped many conspiracy theories from reemerging, from mold in the home to a cover-up by government spies.
