Brittany Murphy’s mother Sharon is under the impression that her daughter is still alive. As you might recall, Brittany died tragically right around this time last year, after battling pneumonia.
She told In Touch, "It's beyond strange. I don't have answers for it. Sometimes just in order to function, I pretend it didn't happen."
And keep in mind, as if the poor woman didn’t have enough to deal with, Brittany’s husband Simon Monjack passed away just months later! "I feel their presence here. It's comforting," Sharon told the mag.
Brittany's mother might want to think about getting the hell out of that house though—it seems to be affecting her! She reportedly keeps her daughter's bedroom exactly as it was before she died.
She explained: "I'm always remembering times with her. She would always say that we grew up together, and that's true. We were so close, and such great friends."
Sharon is writing a book about Brittany right now, so let’s hope that helps her close some doors, and maybe put that house on the market! I do not know how she stays there after everything that happened this past year!

But no, she’s decided to write a book about them. According to E! Online, Sharon is writing a tell-all about her daughter.

"This book will be my way of celebrating and honoring her extraordinary life and career," Sharon Murphy said. "Brittany was a kind, loving person who enjoyed each day, she was my life."
"I am looking forward to everyone reading the accurate account about my daughter, her life, loves and career," Sharon added. "A portion of the proceeds that I receive from the book will be donated to charity."

Ok, this is sweet and everything, but there’s no way this woman is ready to spill all about her daughter. It’s going to come out as a huge emotional mess on paper!
Not to mention the fact that it’s going to be a biased account since it’s coming from Brittany’s mother. We all know Brittany had her issues….we wonder if Sharon will mention how she feels about Simon Monjack?
That whole situation was so weird. It’s so sad, but they were such an odd match! And I kind of think Sharon is doing this for some extra cash now that her daughter isn't around to support her.

Brittany's former business manager Jeffrey Morgenroth tells People that Simon drained Brittany's cash reserves by 80 percent by the time of her death in December until his own death from anemia and pneumonia in May.
"There were huge amounts of money in [Brittany's] pension plan and bank account, and all of that's gone," says Morgenroth. "I would see it on the statements. There was money being withdrawn by Simon, hundreds of thousands."
Of course Simon's mother paints a completely different picture. His mother Linda tells People magazine, "He didn't get much, maybe a few hundred dollars, and he paid off his debts with it. He was spending his time crying his eyes out most of the time. He was in a terrible state."
Just one month after he passed away we found out he had two secret kids that Brittany never knew about. Brittany's mother Sharon found emails from two different women who wanted child support from Simon. According to people who have seen the emails, Simon had a son by one baby mama and a daughter by another.
He reportedly transferred $48,000 in a single transfer. He was also sending money to lawyers and sent someone else in Europe money for a "settlement."
He was always such a shady guy, nothing surprises us about this guy. It's sad that Brittany fell for him and trusted him with her life and finances.

According to CNN, the coroner concluded that Monjack died the same way as his wife—from acute pneumonia and severe anemia.
"Just like Brittany," Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said.
Prescription drugs were also found in Monjack’s system, but they did not cause an overdose or apparently contribute to his death. The medical examiner ruled out heart disease as a contributing factor. Monjack had reportedly been experiencing heart problems.
The two are buried next to each other at the Forest Lawn cemetery in LA. So sad. And it still seems like there’s something we don’t know about both of their deaths.

According to TMZ, Simon reportedly has two secret children that Brittany never knew about.
Simon's mom, brother and therapist stayed at Simon's home last week with Brittany Murphy's mom, Sharon Murphy. And when they left, they took his laptop with them.
They went through the computer and found emails from two different women who wanted child support from Simon. According to people who have seen the emails, Simon had a son by one baby mama and a daughter by another.
He reportedly transferred $48,000 in a single transfer. He was also sending money to lawyers and sent someone else in Europe money for a "settlement."
Brittany's mother Sharon, who used to speak fondly of Simon, has notified authorities and has filed a theft report. So sad! Story developing...

Brittany passed away just five months ago after collapsing in the shower and now Simon is gone.
Robert Neal, the Murphy and Monjack family publicist, said: “That was definitely his wish. It's safe to say that wish will be fulfilled.”

The results of toxicology tests aren't in yet, but prescription pills were found near both their bodies.
Simon reportedly put off a bypass operation for his heart condition last September, so we know he had medical issues.
The publicist added, “As far as we know he passed away of natural causes. He did have a heart condition and he was due for bypass heart surgery.”
Rest in peace Simon...and Brittany.
Sharon is said to be "devastated" over the loss of her son in law Simon Monjack and is having a hard time coming to terms with his death.
Sharon said: "I loved Simon like a son, and he loved me like a mom. I've lost a son-in-law and a daughter, and I'm devastated.”
Simon Postponed Necessary Heart Surgery
Sharon, who also discovered Brittany unconscious in her shower in December, says she wants to start a [legit] foundation under her daughter’s name.
The Brittany Murphy Foundation will help city children "discover the arts."
Roger Neal, her publicist, said: "I don't know if many of us could endure what she's endured in the last five months. She's incredibly strong, she has close friends around her. And I think more than ever she's going to be determined to make sure that the Brittany Murphy Foundation goes forward.
"She just needs her privacy right now, and she's taking it. She's distraught, but she's strong at the same time."
Let's just hope they don't try to scam people with this foundation like Simon did when Brittany passed away. Our condolences to Sharon.

Monjack’s rep Roger Neal said today, "Simon needed a [heart] bypass. I was told he needed a bypass, and I said to him, 'Simon, you have so much going on, let's keep you healthy.' I said, 'You want to be healthy. Don't you?' He said yes, but he said, 'The bypass can wait.' "
Simon Monjack: Possible Overdose
It’s unknown at this point just how serious and necessary the surgery was. "I don't know how much of an emergency it was. The doctors would have made him get it immediately if he needed it, but Sharon confirmed with me he did need a bypass. They didn’t make it public because he had so much going on,” Neal said.
As you may recall, Monjack suffered a heart attack one week prior to Brittany’s death in December. Simon’s own mother commented saying her son was “unwell.”

L.A. Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter reported that Simon’s cause of death may have been a heart attack. "We're not sure if it is natural causes or a possible accident," said Winter, "maybe because of the prescription medication found there."
In addition to the heart problems, Monjack also had a bout with oral cancer, something he spoke about back in February. Neal does not believe Monjack died of an overdose. He added, "If he had prescription medication, I believe that's all it was. I don't believe he had an overdose ... As far as empty bottles, I don't know anything about that. If you have a heart condition you're going to have prescription medication for yourself. You're going to be on some kind of medicine."
Prescription drug use has proven to be just as lethal as recreational drugs these days. It’s claimed the lives of too many young celebrities lately, and something needs to be done to stop how easy it is to attain them.

There was a ton of prescription drugs found on his nightstand, most of the which were the same prescription drugs found when Brittany passed away.
Los Angeles County Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said: "There were some prescription drugs found that belonged to Mr. Monjack, and we'll have an ongoing investigation.

"Cause of death is pending, and there will be an autopsy after a day or so, and pending toxicology reports, we'll be releasing the results after we get all those tests back. The family is devastated at this time, and it is under investigation."
According to the coroner, Simon’s body was found in the master bedroom and there “were no illicit drugs location – just prescription medications."
Brittany’s mother Sharon Murphy found Simon’s body, just five months after she discovered Brit's body. Poor thing! Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family during this difficult time.
Simon's body was found late Sunday night at his home in the Hollywood Hills, and strangely enough Police spokesman Sgt. Louie Lozano says the preliminary cause of death is "natural causes."
He tells The Associated Press that investigators are still at the scene early Monday and he does not have any more details on Monjack's death.
Pharmacy: We Cut Brittany and Simon Off
"We have detectives at scene," Lozano said. "They are conducting their investigation. Once we have further information, we will provide it."
At 9:24 p.m. Sunday, the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a 911 call for an “unspecified medical aid request,” according to spokesman Brian Humphrey.
Brittany died on Dec. 20, after going into sudden cardiac arrest because of "drug intake," according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office.
Simon Denies Affair With Brittany's Mother
Her death was ruled accidental, the result of pneumonia complicated by an iron deficiency, anemia and multiple drug intoxication.
After her death Simon moved in with Brittany's mother and very recently had to deny rumors of that he was romantically involved with Brittany's mother.
We're pretty shocked about his sudden death, but shortly after Brittany's death we found out they both had several prescriptions written out to them and were taking a cocktail of meds. More details coming soon!
