Simon Cowell says he's lining up a "very famous actress" and "very famous singer" to join the 'X-Factor' panel.
You think its Meryl Streep? I'm going with Meryl Streep.
Rumors that Britney Spears was to join the show were recently shot down, with a source saying that she wanted $20 million and the show would only offer $10 million. But now, those Spears rumors appear to be resurfacing. Just last night, the Hollywood Reporter reported: "A well place source told THR that Spears' fiancé, agent Jason Trawick, is negotiating her contact, which could be signed as soon as this week."
"You'll have to wait and see," Cowell said during an appearance on Good Day New York. " The truth is, we are talking to a number of people. It changes on a daily basis to be honest with you.”
Simon did admit, however, that two names have come forward in the past 24 hours, including a "very famous singer" and a "very famous actress."
So what's his strategy for narrowing down the decision?
"You gotta talk to everybody."
And as far as Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul being fired, Simon said:
"They weren't fired, darling. They just weren't invited back."
Simon Cowell is Zsa Zsa Gabor now.
And what about Steve Jones not being "invited back"?
"With the host, too many Brits on the show, if I'm being honest with you," Simon said. "One Brit allowed."
Cowell says he's looking for two hosts, one male and one female, and his criteria:
"I like hosts who don't kind of have a hosting background, you know. I like them when they've done acting and stuff like that. It's a different kind of dynamic.”
