The trial against Britney Spears continues…
On Tuesday, Sam Lufti – the former manager who is suing the pop star for defamation among other stuff – took the stand. In his testimony, he told the court that Britney shaved her head to hide evidence of drug use.
The Daily Beast is reporting details of the trial. While on the stand, Lufti brought his A-game to paint the “Crazy” singer as unstable as possible at the time of her 2007 meltdown.
Her infamous head shaving, he claimed, was Britney’s effort to get rid of the evidence that she had been using hard drugs.
“She told me she wanted to get clean, but she was struggling with it,” Lufti said on the stand. “I told her it was very difficult to kick a drug habit … but I told her she needed to do it. I explained to her that society is not going to tolerate a mother with two kids abusing drugs."
Sam’s testimony seems to back the legal chorus that his team has been singing all along. As TMZ previously reported, Sam’s lawyer, Joseph Schleimer, told the court last week that Britney was a mega druggy. Her substance of choice – he had said – was crystal meth.
Schleimer also said that Brit was worried a judge might ask her for a hair sample to have tested, which would cause her to lose custody of her two children.
Too bad Britney was busy Mouseketeering when her middle school biology class was learning that humans – like all mammals – have hair all over their bodies, not just on their heads…But - in her defense - it’s hard to keep such tweenage life lessons in check when you’re hopped up on Walter White’s special sauce…
As we have already reported, Lufti is suing Brintey and her family for libel, defamation, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and breach of contract relating to the publication of Britney’s mom Lynne Spears’ memoir Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World.
