Yesterday, some Britney Spears and Les Miserables super fan tweeted out a mash-up photo of Russell Crowe as Javert in Les Mis, which strangely and coincidentally looks EXACTLY like Britney Spears did in her music video for “Toxic.”
So, this is weird or whatever, but what’s even weirder, is that Russell took this moment as an opportunity to creepily Twitter flirt with Britney Spears.
The fan posted the photo and wrote, “hey @britneyspears did you see @russellcrowe in #lesMis maybe he is fan of you.”
Britney tweeted back first, “LOL. Cute hat @RussellCrowe. You wear it well. Maybe we should perform a toxic/Work Song mashup ;)”
It’s clear that Britney initiates the flirtation. “Cute hat?” Winky face? I get that she’s single, but girl, don't put your best game in one tweet!
THEN, Russell, who probably Googled Britney Spears and found out she was newly single, tweeted back: “Hello young lady. Such a lovely colour on you.”
Ew. Ew. Ew. Ew. Ew.
Is it okay that we’re spying on this? Is anyone else creeped out!? Hello young lady! Ulch, he might as well start cruising playgrounds with that kind of language.
But the best part is, it’s a not-so-well-kept-Hollywood-secret that Britney Spears doesn’t even tweet for herself (sorry, superfans). Britney has a social media manager who tweets FOR her. Meaning, Russell’s flirty words were wasted on some Britney assistant.
Does this make you Les Miserable or just Les Creeped Out?
