LAPD Doesn't Favor Britney Law

February 22, 2008

"What we need is for Britney Spears to stay home instead of traipsing all over town. That would solve the problem. We don't need additional laws…I've got laws coming out my ears to deal with this issue. What you have is several young women in this town and several young men basically making fools of themselves and tying up not only my resources but the resources of the media that would do better covering legitimate stories instead of a bunch of airheads running around out there…Quite clearly some of these characters so favored by the paparazzi are clearly in need of services. Not police services, but psychiatric services."

---LAPD Chief William Bratton on what he thinks about the Britney Spears Law taking effect in Los Angeles.

What is up with her hands? I've noticed several pics where they look like she has sores and red spots? Nerves?

why should she stay home just because she is famous doesn't mean she is not human. how would you like to stay cooped up in your house all the time. no one really cares what she does but they pursue her relentlessly. ho would you like it if you wanted to go out for icecream and wound up with 50 cameras shoved within inches of your face. that is not right for anyone. so what if it cost 25000 I am sure she paid way more than that in taxes anyway.

My vote too. I want to see the police preventing my children from being murdered, not chasing a skankass all around town just because she seeks attention.

Gee Lana, since when is it disrespectful to state the facts. Anyone with one eye and 1/2 a brain can see what Britney is up to. Not one person on the force makes $700,000/month. She can afford to pay for her own battles, not use the taxpayers money. Her behavior is downright shameful, but then she has several mental issues that she doesn't deal with. Chief Bratton has my vote.

How can you guys think that what he said was ok? What he said is in direct violation of the civil right he is paid to protect. She can go out as many times she wants. Why he didn't mention Brad and Angelina, they cause the same media frenzy. Should they stay locked inside. People, use your common sense!!! What he said is disrespectful of her and it is not the way a LAPD chief of the police should address the public.

I agree with the Police Chief and commend him for 'telling it like it is'. Too many celebrities are tying up police servies and tax payer dollars to protect them while they traipse around pretending they do not want media attention.

Now there's a cop with common sense. Too bad the entire Spears family has none.

I think it's a good law, but they should of named it something else.
