Twitter has officially become the number one form of publicity. Last week, Britney Spears’ manager Adam Leber started a trending topic on Twitter to get his client on Glee.
Word traveled all the way to show creator Ryan Murphy, who is supposedly super interested in the idea!
He told EW, “I’m interested in the Britney Spears idea. I’ve always loved her. I’m entertaining it. I think young kids would like that.”
And the show isn’t stopping at Brit. Murphy is reportedly interesting in paying tribute to Billy Joel, Led Zeppelin, and Courtney Love. “I actually ran into Courtney Love the other day and talked to her,” Murphy said. “She’s interested. I would love to have the kids do a Courtney Love episode one day.”
The main point, explained Murphy, is that “the songs in the catalogue have to have a certain degree of theatricality.”
Courtney Love seems a little dark for this show, but the Gleeks have never let us down on how they pull off every song they’re thrown! So we think even that could work!
