Dr. Phil Says Britney Needs Medical Help

Britney Spears

Everyone has been talking about Dr. Phil's visit to Britney Spears this morning right before she was released from the hospital.

Many said he visited her because he wants to get her on his show this week. Well ET and The Insider have spoken to Dr. Phil and this is what he had to say.

"My meeting with Britney and some family members this morning in her room at Cedars leaves me convinced more than ever that she is in dire need of both medical and psychological intervention," he said.

"She was released moments before my arrival and was packing when I entered the room," he adds. "We visited for about an hour before I walked with her to her car. I am very concerned for her."

He shouldn't have spoken to the press about how concerned he is about her. If she finds out that he told the public that Britney needs psychological help, it might turn her against him too. She's very sensitive now and she feels like everyones out to get her. Her close family and friends talking to the press doesn't help the situation.

If he is sincerely trying to help her fine. But she is no condition to be on a tv show. I know he needs ratings, but this is a little much.

She needs to speak to someone that is not trying to make a buck off of her someone that is actually looking out for her best intrest and that is why it's so diffcult for her to open up to anyone, because their is always someone that will sell her out. It's a sad life, but she wanted to live it.

Dr. Phil only wants her on during February sweeps. As a doctor myself, I once prescribed that Dr. Phil could clear his throat by having Oprah's head removed from his ass. Britney doesn't need Dr. Phil. She needs Dr. Jason.

I think everyone should give Britney a break. It's not like no-one else in the world hasn't had any problems! With everyone putting her down all the time, it just gets worse.

Dr. Phil is not even licensed at this time and what he's doing is 100% unethical

Dr. Phil is not qualified to treat anyone. He has no license in any state in America and used Oprah's political contacts in Illinois to void professional allegations when he began his show. The greater problem is that with Dr. Phil's boundary issues, how long will it take it before his "cure" is the same solution that caused him to lose his license in Texas. Texas precludes him from seeing patients in Texas. Dr. Phil apparently did not want to complywith professional ethics that preclude professionals sleeping with their patients. At watching Kathy Griffin's show and hearing how Dr. Phil put the moves on Jane Fonda while bragging how he made his wife jealous, it's only a matter of time before he ends up in bed with Britney.
