Catholics Outraged Over Britney's Virgin Mary Role

Last week there were reports that Britney Spears was in talks to play the Virgin Mary in a spoof movie.

Leaders of a Catholic group are beyond pissed that Spears will take the lead role in the movie 'Sweet Baby Jesus.'

Bill Donohue, the President of the America's Catholic League, said: "She is seriously miscast. She would be better suited to play the lead role in a flick called Monica (as in Lewinsky). If she did, the Catholic League would be delighted to send her a box of cigars."

Weren't they praying for her a few weeks back? I'm confused, do they want to help her or ban her?

Ok...she IS being prayed for, but Bill Donohue is a watchdog of sorts for the faith in the media and how it's portrayed. If in fact she is doing this, I would be very offended as a practicing Catholic. Quite frankly though, I am surprised Mr. Donohue has spoken out on this story already. I assumed it was yet one more rumor concerning her. The girl can't even pull together a music video very well, much less an acting job.I will believe it when I see it.I pray for her to get the help she needs and that she won't do something stupid like killing herself.

everyone uses her for publicity and that's the end of it. no one really cares for her-sad, but true. anyways, i cant WAIT for tomorrow's preview of piece of me!! it BETTER be good! i hope she dances!!

These sad little catholics need to join up with PETA and just raid the WORLD and force everyone to bow to their command. How annoying they are. It's a free country, if they want to cast Britney Spears as HOLY GOD HIMSELF, what are they going to do about it?
