Britney's Lawyer Fights For Brit In Court

Britney Spears' lawyer and K.Fed's lawyer are in court today.

Kevin's lawyer is arguing that Britney is violating the court orders by not responding to the drug testing people within one hour.

"There have been 14 requests and only eight have been responded to," Kaplan told Court Commissioner Scott Gordon. "We have been in court on this exact issue at least three times."

Spears' attorney countered stating the tests as "unconstitutional.

"Since October 5 there have been 10 negative drug tests," she said, adding, "the idea that she needs to respond within the hour is meaningless.

"Is the issue Britney Spears needs to get up at 8:30 a.m. and answer the phone?" she said. "She's a pop star with a No. 1 album. She is not up that early."

Brit's lawyer Anne Kiley, argued that the time they usually call is unreasonable. She basically told the judge that he's not a pop star so he doesn't know what it's like.

The judge argued: "She needs to take responsibility. The issue is to see if she can follow a court order.

"Since we started this, there have been lost phones, changed numbers, voice mails being left on someone else's voice mail.

"Maybe we should set up a fixed appointment for her to be tested," he said. "The point is we cannot continue to do these weekly ex-parte motions."

The best line had to be the "you are not a pop star, you don't know" line. I got my morning laugh.
