Britney To Settle Hit-and-Run Case

That dark cloud above Britney Spears' head is taking a breather...just for a minute though. According to Us Weekly the pop wreck is close to settling with the victim over her hit-and-run case.

Back in August Britney had a little fender bender at a parking lot and fled but the paps (aka: the Hollywood cops) caught it on tape and Spears' was booked and charged on misdemeanor counts of hit-and-run and driving without a valid California driver's license.

Spears plans on paying the victim for the damages and the misdemeanor could be reduced to a citation. Basically money talks and Spears has a lot of it.

That's all that should be is a citation, if it was a misdermeanor that would simply be making an example out of her -- everyday Joe's and Jane's don't get misdemeanors for that -- it was a scratch. Seriously. It was probably $100 to have what was a slight scruff removed. Someone could do more damage with a shopping cart.
