Is this happening? If Twitter has anything to do with it, then yeah.
Yesterday, Britney Spears innocently tweeted her love of the ABC comedy, “Modern Family,” writing, “I know everybody is excited about the Super Bowl, but I personally can’t wait to see the next episode of Modern Family! Funniest show on TV.”
Then, Modern Family star Sofia Vergara retweeted it and caused her manager to write, “@BritneySpears on Modern Family? What do you guys think?”
Then twitter fans went off! A #GetBritneyonModernFamily trending topic was born and everyone was retweeting the sh-t out of Britney’s tweet.
Britney then tweeted, “Ahh I would love to be on it!”
This isn’t the first time an online campaign got a celebrity an acting job. Facebook fans started a petition to get Betty White on SNL and it actually happened. Tweeting for change, let’s start the trending topic.
However, there’s no official word from Britney Spears or Modern Family and since this happened over the course of a few hours, there haven’t been any meetings between Brit and ABC yet unless their official discussions consists of a few Re-tweets then sure, they’ve had a sit down and signed a contract.
Also, Ryan Seacrest reported that her guest appearance hasn’t been confirmed yet. Wait, why does Ryan Seacrest know the details? Eh, Ryan Seacrest is slowly becoming Hollywood God, so sure, I believe anything he says.
This wouldn’t be Britney’s first guest appearance on a sitcom. She’s something of a veteran now. She’s appeared on “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” in the 90’s, was on “Will & Grace” and “How I Met Your Mother” and most recently “Glee” even though she had like no-lines during her “Glee” appearance. However, do you know how many more eyeballs Modern Family would get if Britney Spears made an appearance? Like, so many.
