It’s big news for anyone that grew up dancing in the mirror to “Oops...I Did it Again.”
Hollyscoop spoke with the pop icon’s co-judge Simon Cowell during the network’s press call on Tuesday, where we questioned him about the possibility of a Britney performance actually happening.
Turns out, there’s a very good chance of this wish coming true.
“I’m going to push as much as possible for her to do something on the finale,” says Simon, adding, “I think she’ll probably do it.”
This is major news for the songstress whose live television performances have been scarce ever since her colossally critiqued “Gimme More” appearance at the 2007 MTV VMAs.
But, according to Simon, it isn’t just a potential performance that fans should be getting excited about--Britney’s team is apparently going to be one of the hardest to beat…and that’s coming from Simon!
“Britney’s team,” Cowell says, telling the press that her group of young bloods is the team he’s most afraid of. “I think everybody in a way wanted that category because we have two or three kids in the category who are super, super talented this year.”
All the performers, he says, will be front and center now that the season has moved into live episodes.
“I think people are going to get blown away by some of the talent this year,” Simon adds. “It’s so much better than what we did last year.”
“The X Factor” returns on Thursday for its second live episode where the top finalists will be revealed. The episode will air at 8/7 c on FOX.
