Britney Spears is Engaged! A Brief History of Britney's Boyfriends

Britney Spears is off the market, folks. Her longtime boyfriend, Jason Trawick, has already proposed to her. he proposed on his birthday Thursday night in Los Angeles. "He surprised her after she gave him his gifts and after they had cake last night," a source told People magazine. He proposed with a Neil Lane sparkler.

Earlier today Britney took to Twitter to write:

“OMG. Last night Jason surprised me with the one gift I've been waiting for. Can't wait to show you! SO SO SO excited!!!! Xxo”

Everyone seems to think it’s an engagement ring, though, and we’ll find out in less than 24 hours. To celebrate her new role as Mrs. Trawick, we’re taking a look back at Britney’s past loves.



1998-2002: Justin Timberlake: Ah, young, denim-clad love. Britney’s first public romance was with Justin Timberlake, and the two dated for four years. You know it’s love when you wear matching denim jumpsuits. The relationship ended amid rumors of Britney’s cheating.



2003: Colin Farrell: Colin took Britney to a movie premiere in 2003, where they kissed on the red carpet. Britney denied they were dating, and Colin sent her a T-shirt that read: “I slept with Colin Farrell and all I got was this lousy t-shirt.” Hey, just be glad that is all you got after sleeping with Colin Farrell.



2003: Fred Durst: Britney reportedly had a short fling with the Limp Bizkit singer. He told Howard Stern that Spears is “definitely not the sweet, innocent little thing.” Was he just quoting lyrics from Oops! I Did It Again?

2003: Columbus Short: Wow, 2003 was a busy year for Britney. She was also photographed cozying up to one of her dancers. So what’s the problem? His pregnant wife was waiting for him back home. Oops.



2004: Jason Alexander: Britney married her childhood bestie after they drunkenly eloped in Las Vegas. They annulled it 24 hours later.



2004—2006: Kevin Federline: They married in 2004 and divorced two years later, but it wasn’t all a waste. They did produce two beautiful boys. And oh, there was that awesome reality show.



2006: J.R. Rotem: Britney reportedly dated the producer on and off in 2006. Rotem told a magazine that he did banged Britney “wheelbarrow style.” Well, that’s nice.

2007: Howie Day: They bonded over rehab. Britney and Howie had an affair while at Promises rehab facility in May 2007.



2008: Adnan Ghalib: Britney dated the photographer up until her hospitalization in January 2008. She reportedly dumped him after finding texts on his phone from another woman.



2009—current: Jason Trawick: Jason was one of Britney’s brother’s BFFs. When their relationship was confirmed, a pal said, “They’re very sweet together,” adding that Spears “always had a crush on Trawick.” Congrats, Britney!
