Britney On Stage at 'House of Blues'

Like we first reported earlier, Britney Spears took the stage at the House of Blues in San Diego for a surprise 20 minute appearance.

Fans waited outside the venue for at least 3 hours and popped around $125 per ticket to see the pop princess' first public performance in 3 years.

One disappointed fan told the Associated Press, “It looked like she lip-synched her way through the whole thing.” Nevertheless, she did actually perform and she was said to be having a great time.

Her only words came as she was leaving. "Thanks everyone for coming," she told the packed club. Other surprise performances are already being scheduled. She is set to perform in San Francisco on Monday May 7th.

All I can say to all the haters is give the girl a break, she has been through a lot and is still going through a lot. Not to mention trying to balance being a single mom, entertainer, and everything mostly on her own. While she did make her own bed for the most part, you have to give her support for getting up again and trying. Everybody loves a Rocky story and I think Brit fits the gold and black trunks (man, she'd look good in them a la Drew Barrymore in her Rolling Stone pics)...

for anyone who says that its cold for her to just perform for 20min. when fans paid 125+ for the tickets isnt being fair to britney cuz..she wasnt perfmorming under "britney spears" it was a surprise performance..not a full on concert! FYI: there is no way you can dance and sing at the same time..i mean..if you actually go to her concert she actually sings when she sings her slow songs! even beyonce admitted she lipsynchs

In the live footage of her performing she does have quite a roll on her belly. Hard to get rid of the baby roll for alot of woman. Very disappointing performance though. Between the lipsyncing and shortened versions of just a few old songs, the dancing was nothing new. She's going to have a hard time keeping up with real performers like Beyonce, Shikera, or Christina.

You must be looking at the wrong pics of her. I saw ones of her coming out of the dance studio she started prepping at and the abs were DEFINITELY back, man. Lip-syncing sucks but at least she seems on the wagon these days. While I agree she does need to be seen in public w/her kids, it doesn't mean she isn't doing just because the pa-pa aren't catching it.

Ok, how cold it had been a suprise appearance when they are selling tickets for $125? I wouldn't pay a penny to see someone like her, especially because everyone knows always lip sync. She should be concentrating in raising her BOYS!
