Britney on Psychiatric Hold

Unlike the last time Britney was hospitalized, she is just about the only one in the Spears entourage that is calm and cooperative.

Spears was admitted at UCLA medical center at 1:30AM Thursday night. Her parents, Jamie and Lynne Spears, Sam Lutfi, Alli Sims, and her pap boyfriend Adnan accompanied her. Britney's father Jamie was crying when he first arrived at the hospital. Lynne was very upset and had little to say to the annoying paps. She just said that her daughter was "Ok."

There's a lot of tension surrounding Britney's hospitalization because Sam is getting very controlling of the issue and Britney's parents have had it with him. Jamie and Sam reportedly got into a screaming match in the hallway, with Jamie accusing Sam of trying to control his daughter's mind.

According to sources at TMZ, an L.A. County Superior Court judge has signed a "5150," meaning Britney is on a three-day psychiatric hold at the UCLA Medical Center. The same thing happened during her January 3rd meltdown, but Britney was released early because she wasn't a threat to herself or others.

UPDATE: Sam Lutfi can hit the curb because Britney's parents are calling the shots for now. The docs at UCLA are "fully cooperating" with Brit's parents for Britney's recovery. Now, the judge has to sign an order to determine who is in charge. Let's hope he picks her parents because Sam hasn't done good till now.

i honestly feel very bad for her. She's so confused on who to trust or anything.. Sam and all the rest want her to stay the way she is only becuse in this state of mind she allowes them to ruin her.. She is the "cash cow" for all junkies and menipulative people! hopefully they will get to keep her long enough to where she can find herself again.. i mean just imagen if you were under a microscope on absolutley everything you did, and the only thing people want to hear are horrible things, shes so lost!

Tasha, if her parents are sensible, they will go to court and have Lufti and certain other people removed from the situation. he is tipping off the press. I can't imagine doing something like that, so that tells me what he is like. he is texting and calling X17 and TMZ with stories. Is this man even a qualified manager.

That's what I'm saying anonymous. Sam's not related to her so how can he claim to have the right to make decisions or even speak to the doctors about her. Her parents need to tell him to fuck off! They are her next of kin who can make decisions.

Get A Clue, Twitney can't be a role model till she cleans up the rest of her life. Role models demonstrably care about other people. Not so with Twitney. A lot more than her mental health has to change. Let's see her use her privileged position to help others. She can start with being a mom, and maybe carry forward with Clooney-style good deeds.

Britney has a physical illness in her brain. It is not her fault. In her un-medicated state she cannot control her behavior much less serve as a role model for anyone, at least not in the sense that laura speaks. She can serve, in the future, as a role model for mental illness education. As I see it, first hand, society is in the dark ages when is comes to dealing with mental illness in all its forms. Perhaps if there wasn't such an ignorant stigma associated with mental illness, more people would come forward for treatment and less people would have to suffer, families included.

why is "Sam Lufti" even involved in this. he is not related to her. he is a man that has a terrible legal track record. how is he even saying he will make medical decisions.

Her parents can't kick Sam to the curb because Britney is not a minor. I agree he needs to go though! I am glad she is attempting to get help.

It's about time. The way she acted these last few days, the out patient treatment she was getting wasn't working. I really hope she gets it together. But why can't her parents kick Sam to the curb? He has no right to even be at the hospital, making decisions, or seeing her.
