Britney Not Joining Cyndi Lauper On Tour

June 28, 2007

Britney Spears’ choreographer spoke a little too soon. She went off and blabbedto People magazine last week stating that Britney would be hitting the stage with Cyndi Lauper for her True Colors tour but word has come that really isn't the case.

A source told Page Six, "There's no way. Britney said she would only dance or lip-sync - and to be on stage with Cyndi, you have to actually perform. It's not happening now."

A rep for True Colors said, "She was invited to appear on the first date in Las Vegas but we never heard from her."

So there you have it folks, Britney will not be appearing on tour with Cyndi Lauper. There goes the tour of the has-beens of every generation.

I guess you wanted to have the attention of people and you obtained it only using the name of 2 great persons in the story of music like Cyndi and Brit I understand that you have a " little " of envy

scott, unless you do some research, you should keep your mouth shut. Britney isn't good enough to perform next to Cyndi, and that is the plain fact.

A has-been is an entertainer whose phone never rings. I assure you that if Cyndi Lauper accepted every invite she gets to create, collaborate or perform she would be busy 24/7/365. That's called staying power.

I agree that calling Lauper a "has-been" is a cheap shot. She's an artist who, though well past her commercial prime, continues to make excellent music. She doesn't have multi-platinum sales any more, so I guess you could say she's a has-been. But to say that would be to slight the excellent work she has done in recent years.

I think that is better for Cyndi Lauper's career. Britney is just not like she use to be. Sorry Brit, but it's true.

This just goes to show that Britney knows she needs help making her music sound "good" (I never did like her music to begin off with) but all the smoking and drinking and drugs obviously had hendered her "voice skills" and she knows people are not going to like what they hear since she can't lip synch while on Cyndi's tour.

Has been? I don't think so. Cyndi lauper is a wonderful musician and artist. She does more than just sing and act, She actually stands up for what's fair. Her concerts are so full of energy. I don't think you actually understand the true meaning of the word "Has Been". Why don't you do some research. Then you'll know how big of an icon cyndi lauper is. Plus, on top of all that. She's extremely nice. And a lot of stars aren't like that today.

The concert is fun. You should go and check out how much fun a has-been can be. Too bad for Britney...it was a great party and she probably would have had a great experience.

isnt cyndi lauper like 70 years old by now? i mean she was an icon when i was 12 but i havent heard about her for the past 15 years

Everyone knows Cyndi's one of the greatest live performers ever, infact this tour has gotten glowing reviews by the NY Times, and the Chicago newspapers, and newspapers in every city it's visited so far, and those reviews were done by real professional music critics (who actually know about music):).

I agree with the post above. You obviously have no clue what your reporting on. It's called research. Cyndi Lauper is an icon. I am not a fan of Spears but I don't think she can be called a has been just yet.

Actually Cyndi Lauper's great, I went to the concert at Radio City Music Hall and Cyndi rocked the house, so I guess maybe now all the most talented artists have got to be called has-beens now?, but I guess Hollyscoop has to give great artists like Cyndi Lauper a hard time.
