Britney Intimidated By Younger Talent?

December 04, 2007

Britney Spears

Is Britney Spears feeling a bit intimidated? Last week Brit-Brit shot her music video for her latest single “Piece of Me” but she naturally showed up hours late to the shoot.

The only reason she reportedly even showed up was because she was told by her record label, Jive Records, that her video shoot was going to be given to a younger up-and-coming singer. That’s when Britney jumped and made it to the shoot.

A Jive insider tells Page Six. “Jive hired Wayne Isham to direct, had all the dancers there — hair, makeup and everything…But she refused to come. Jive was really upset. They were already paying everyone overtime, and finally Britney showed up 12 hours late — but only after they told her they were going to give the video shoot to another Jive artist, Samantha Jade.”

This Samantha Jade girl was told to by on stand by because they sorta figured Britney would try to pull this kind of shit. “They were going to recalibrate it for Samantha, because it was too expensive to just scrap,” says the source. “Britney finally showed up when she realized a new, younger, hotter girl would take her slot,” the insider said.

I thought stuff like this only happened in the movies. The older singer gets intimidated because there is a younger up and coming star that’s gonna take away from the spotlight. I guess movie directors get these ideas from real life incidences.

no matter what you guys say.,,, Britney is already an ICON. she may lost the spotlight but its not now not even in the next five or ten years. And if ever it will happen, mind you, many of you will be reckoning of her, her songs which at one point of your life made you groove and feel excited.... she already made a mark to many peoples' heart. Those who are fun of criticizing her are Boo!, they are watching her life not even looking at theirs. there's only One big thing i want to emphasize: "Before you wipe the shit out of other peoples' face, wipe first the shit on yours."

What has she done that you say she needs to go to jail? Therapy yes, but why jail? I am just curious.

26 isn't "old" age wise, but it is in the land of LaLa...the competition is fierce! Britney has been a "star" since she was 17. at 26, she is getting "old"by industry standards. Madonna pushed the limits that's true, but I think her days are numbered as is her touring. Girls that are barely teenagers are moving into the spotlight. (Just look at La Lohan's little sister Ali who looks 25 and not 13!)Britney had better wake up soon from her self induced coma and get the help she needs before it's too late for her career wise. She is becoming the joke celebrity now known for her insane antics rather than as a performer. This is really very sad how her life is such a mess.

how the hell is 26 old?? madonna is an icon from the 80's still bringing out album and dancing in skanky outfits. Britney really needs to get her act together! I honestly don't think anyone can top britney's star power though. Whether you love or hate her, people just want to talk about her. But I have to admit, this samantha girl is pretty!

She's living in a time warp. It's not 2000 or 2001 honey. Those days are gone. Damn it's hard to believe that was 7 years ago. Time flies. When I was in high school nobody could touch this bitch!!

Yes she has made Jive money but her antics have cost them money too. It's all about the money, that's why it is called "show business." Hollywood is always looking for that new fresh face. And if she is too hung over or stoned to get off her ass and make them money, Jive will find someone else. Someone should tell her Hollywood does not revolve around her. But since she doesn't give a shit about her kids, I doubt she will care about her career.

Actually, if you all remember, months ago...I suggested that Britney's Mom should pull this tactic using her daughter Jamie Lynn to intimidate Britney. They really need to shape Jamie Lynn to become a pop music star as more than a bit of appropriate reverse psychology for the increasing arrogant Britney.

You see, Britney looks at herself as the family bread winner and is enjoying pushing them, her family, around...but if Jamie Lynn was positioned to be the next big thing, Britney would begin crossing her T's and dotting her I's, fearing that her little sister will eventually eclipse her. Now call it healthy sibling rivalry if you want...but it certainly worked to a point when Michael Jackson got so rich that he cut-off communication with his family and started acting up...well, the family turned to Janet and made her a super star instead, and with it, Michael began to change his tune somewhat. Now Janet is the big family bread winner. "F" Michael!!!

If Jamie Lynn and Mom pull this off, the irony will not be lost on Britney, and will be their best chance to give her a much needed wake-up call...to get her act together.

No, they get the ideas because the entertainment industry.. ALL of it makes their money off of what is fresh, that's why stars are always doing stome crazy stuff for publicity to keep them in the papers so you won't forget about them ahem..angelina, lindsay..ahem. It's a very sad industry because when you start to lose, you lose everything, so people are pretty cut throat. The ONLY reason britney might be intimidated is only because of the mess she's going through in the papers and people are a little tired of it. This other girl doesn't seem like she'd last long anyway, but it's just because she's new and she would than get attention, and Brit's been pop princess..

Personally I find that disturbing that after she has made them millions and millions that they would dump her after she is having issues, this is the patern with everyone in Britney's life, when the money is rolling in they are her best friend but when she is having issues they want to dump her. But I agree she needed a wake up call! Also everyone can be replaced!

"The older singer gets intimidated because there is a younger up and coming star that’s gonna take away from the spotlight." At the age of 26, Britney is already the "older singer". Damn, that's sad. Britney's career is so over, but Jive has invested too much in her to cut her off...yet.

Tasha I couldn't agree more! Like you said before, Britney is her own worst enemey. She is where she is because of herself, noone else to blame. It is time for her to grow up and take responsibility for her actions. Some people still try to say she is a young girl, but she isn't. She is in her late 20's now-yep 26 is late 20's and still acting like a 15 yr old brat trying to rebel against their overly strict parents.

DTE: Bottom line, Jive is telling your girl she can be replaced. She better get her life together because, they're getting tired of her shit. Unless she makes a 180 degree turn, Jive will move on just like everybody else has. She's not the shit anymore.

They all seem to act this way at one point in there career. Look at Drew Barrymore (love her), she has had her share of moments and has come out of it a well balanced and happy individual. Hopefully for Britney's sake she will soon have balance in her life and become the person we all seemed to like at one point. Hayden said it "We made this girl the star she is and we ripped her apart the minute she did something we did not like" people like to judge so harshly sometimes.

She should feel intimidated. With her behavior her days of being the "it" girl at Jive are coming to a close. They need to move on to the next best thing so they can make their money. Just like Lindsay Lohan, Britney has become too much of a hassle to work with, and there are too many other girls standing in the wings waiting their turn.
