More news from the battlefield of “The X Factor” auditions.
During an East Coast stop of the touring audition process in Providence, Rhode Island, Demi Lovato and Britney Spears gave an interview about their experience so far on the show. So far, “The X Factor” is treating the gals well.
Demi and Britney have united themselves against L.A. Reid and Simon Cowell (especially Simon) for what they describe as the best part of working together: “girl power.”
“We’re both new at this,” said Demi. “We’re not feeling like it’s just one of us is the new kid at school … We’re both adjusting.”
Demi continued that it was nice to bond with another rookie, who is a little nervous too, even if that person is someone she admired growing up.
“I grew up listening to [Britney] so it’s really awesome to be able to sit next to her on a panel,” she said.
And then Britney opened her mouth…
The “Crazy” singer agreed, adding more or less a “what she said” to that last statement. Britney then went on to explain that, when it comes to rap, she’s completely a lost cause for offering advice.
“I didn’t even know what, like, is considered a good rapper, ‘cause I don’t listen to rap music,” she said. “I was like, ‘Is that good?’”
Nothing like the blind leading the blind…
Of course, you can’t get Demi in a room and not ask about the reported hookup with One Directioner Niall Horan[http://www.hollyscoop.com/demi-lovato/one-directions-niall-kisses-a-stuf.... So, Demi… Are you two officially dating?
“No. I’m not,” she said.
D’oh! Sorry, Niall!
“He’s really sweet and he’s one of my really good friends now,” she continued. “I’m single at the moment and I plan to be for a long time because I need to focus on my career.”
Season 2 of “The X Factor” premieres this fall.
