Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston are a match made in dysfunctional heaven, so it should come as no surprise that after a year of publicly fighting, they're getting married.
"We got engaged two weeks ago," Bristol, 19, tells Us Weekly. "It felt right, even though we don’t have the approval of our parents."
That gem of a guy Levi confesses they reconnected a few months ago during a custody battle over their son Tripp.
"I really thought we were over," Levi tells Us Weekly. "So when I went, I had no hope. I think we both just started talking — and then we took Tripp for a walk."
Says Bristol, "When he left that night, we didn’t hug or kiss, but I was thinking how different it was. He texted me: 'I miss you. I love you. I want to be with you again' ... I was in shock."
So how does her mother Sarah Palin feel about the news? After initially be left in the dark, she released the following statement:
"Bristol at 19 is now a young adult. We obviously want what's best for our children," they said in a statement read on the Today show Wednesday morning. "Bristol believes in redemption and forgiveness to a degree most of us struggle to put in practice in our daily lives."
We bet they'll split before the wedding but we really hope for the sake of their son that they're at least getting along. How long do you think they'll last?
