Brenda Song and Trace Cyrus have called off their engagement, and ended their relationship.
An actress and former Disney darling, Song is best known for her character on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and was most recently seen as the psycho girlfriend on The Social Network.
The heavily inked Trace is a musician, formerly of the band Metro Station and currently of the band Ashland High. He’s also related to those other Cyrus’s.
Trace released a statement regarding the break up, "Brenda and I have decided to go our separate ways. We split up a couple of months ago. We will continue to focus on our careers. I wish Brenda the best and much success in the future.”
In August, rumors started swirling about the couple being pregnant, but they were quickly dismissed as just that, rumors. In October, they announced their engagement.
Following the engagement, both Trace and Miley tweeted about the pending nuptials:
Trace: can't wait for Brenda to be a Cyrus :)
Miley: Couldn't be more excited about my 'sister in law to be' yay :)
Nothing says “nothing lasts forever” like a smiley faced emoticon.
Sadly, though it apparently went down a while ago, the public announcement of this break up comes less than a week after Trace’s (more) famous sister announced her engagement to boyfriend Liam Hemsworth.
Sorry Trace, that’s got to sting a little. But judging from the amount of tattoos you’re rocking, you’re no stranger to pain.
We wish them both well in their separate pursuits.
