New Moon has grossed $481 million in two weeks, and Summit Entertainment is reportedly very interested in shooting two films back-to-back. This would involve getting the ok from director Chris Weitz, screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg, and the principle cast.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, splitting Breaking Dawn into two movies means all of the key cast members will get major raises, and Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner could make as much as eight-figures.
This idea would follow in the footsteps of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows which was split up into two films to be released in November 2010 and July 2011.
We think this is a great idea! It will create more hype, especially since this is the last installment in the series. And when it comes to Twilight, it seems the fan base is just getting bigger and bigger!
