Summit Entertainment put out a press release via Facebook today saying that Bill Condon will be directing the fourth and final film. He said in a statement, “I’m very excited to get the chance to bring the climax of this saga to life on-screen. As fans of the series know, this is a one-of-a-kind book — and we’re hoping to create an equally unique cinematic experience.”
For those of you unfamiliar with Condon’s work, he directed the big blockbuster Dreamgirls and wrote Chicago.
Author Stephanie Meyer is excited to have Condon on board. “I’m so thrilled that Bill wants to work with us,” she said. “I think he’s going to be a great fit, and I’m excited to see what he does with the material.”
Meanwhile, Eclipse is getting closer and closer to a release date—it’s out in theaters June 30th!
